Meet Mr & Mrs Red Hot Chilli Pepper, aka Vicki & Roger Taylor.

RHCP

Red Hot Chilli Pepper opened in Caloundra on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in February 2011 to rave of reviews for being unique and a one-stop shop for all your culinary herb & spice needs.

Having a love for travel, food, and cooking all my life was a huge advantage while experiencing many different continents, countries, and cuisines over the past 30 or so years. The more I travelled, the more it fuelled my desire for flavour. Spices have always intrigued me and when dining out I soon found myself in the kitchens of restaurants wanting to know everything there was to know about the unfamiliar flavours in the dishes I was eating. From South America to Africa to India, Asia, and beyond I picked up tastes and flavours from the dishes I had eaten that I knew I wanted to replicate back home, hence where my passion for spices began. “

Because of retail changing (due to people shopping differently since the Covid-19 global pandemic,) it was also time for the business to change, so in October 2021 Red Hot Chilli Pepper closed its doors for the last time and transitioned online for the herbs and spice side of the business. However, the “Licensed to Spice Cooking School” lives on and Vicki will still be conducting her popular cooking classes and spice blending classes in Caloundra, bringing her ‘mobile spice shop’ to every class. Vicki’s recipes come straight out of her travel diaries from her travel days. Vicki is not a qualified chef but she is a very good cook. Just like some people are naturally gifted at singing, songwriting, music, or sport, Vicki’s natural gift is cooking and through her classes is where she will share her passion – with like-minded people.

Red Hot Chilli Pepper – The future is bright, the future is spicy! What Vicki will be doing:-

  • Cooking classes from around the world
  • Combo spice blending + cooking classes – the art & the science of creating beautiful blends, then you cook with them!
  • Spice classes at your home
  • Corporate/Team building event cooking classes
  • Running a ‘mobile’ spice shop across the Sunshine Coast in her car
  • Delivering FREE spices and products to 4551 postcode residents

“There is spice in my life every day and to be honest, I don’t know what I would do without it. Spice is the cheapest ingredient in any dish, yet it has the biggest impact on any dish’s flavour”

Trip Advisor Cooking Class Reviews

“A fun class in well set up home ec school kitchen, with easy-to-follow recipes, everything supplied, concise instructions and a nice group of ‘students’ all working well together and finally enjoying the fruits of our labour. The resulting dishes were outstanding, and we were given an interesting lesson in spices and their health benefits. Well done Vicki. I enjoyed it immensely.” Clara O.

“Thank you Vicki my son a I had a wonderful time cooking such gorgeous dishes and was able to spend the day with him who work very hard and has little girls it was so good I am bringing my daughter back a big thank again I’ll tell all my friends Cheers!” Gale G

“Our group of 10 girls had a great time learning about spices with Vicky, and cooking up a feast for lunch. The lesson moved at a good pace, with lots of hands on preparation and cooking. Vicky supplied recipes and we blended our own spice mixes to use in our recipes and to take home afterwards. The recipes we cooked were delicious and we all agreed we’d use them at home. Good value and great fun!” Seablooms
