Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas or white butterbeans
  • 1/3 cup Tahini
  • Juice from ½ a lemon
  • 1 onion chopped and cooked
  • 2-3 cloves garlic smashed and cooked
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp Baharat spice blend
  • Paprika for garnish
  • Parsley sprig for garnish

Instructions

  • Rinse chickpeas/beans well.
  • Put 1 Tbsp olive oil in pan and sauté onions and garlic. Don’t burn!
  • Add the Baharat and cook for another 20 seconds. Add a little water if it becomes dry.
  • Rinse chickpeas well. In a food processor add all the ingredients except the paprika. Blend until smooth.
  • Season accordingly with salt and pepper. If you would like thinner consistency, add a little water.
  • Tip into bowl; give it a swirl of olive oil and a dusting of paprika. Finish with parsley garnish. Serve with flatbread.
